About Roath

Roath is a densely populated residential district, walking distance from the town centre. In fact, by virtue of the student population, Roath and Cathays is the most densely populated city region in Western Europe.

Cardiff is endowed with more parkland per person than any other City in the UK, and Roath has its fair share with Roath Park a full mile in circumference.

This marks the northern side of Roath, with a matrix of streets between the park and the Albany Road and Wellfield Road shopping roads.

Further South is another grid of roads, bounded to the West by City Road. In the midst of all this brickwork is the Mackintosh bowls and tennis club, which predated all the houses.

Built by the Mackintosh family from Inverness, with the obviously named Mackintosh Place and Inverness Place followed by streets named after their children.
