History
Built in 1886 as the Castle Road, there is a large photo on the bar wall of the pub in more elegant times.During the war, army officers used to stay in the hotel rooms above, and sing and dance in the Blue room, also above.
The pub remains mostly unchanged but with a Pool room replacing the skittle alley.
Due to be refurbished in January 2006.

Curiously named, and some half a mile from Roath Park, this is an old fashioned pub, popular with locals and students alike, and passing trade.Split into a games area, where the students gravitate, bar, and larger lounge where children are allowed until 7pm, it has a warm feel, with friendly bar staff.
