History
It survived the blitz when all around was decimated. They provided shelter for homeless people, with free ale. Such was the gratitude that the whip round thankyou amount exceeded their normal takings.Formerly the Coldstream until 1991, it used to be an Ansels pub, and is one of very few that still sell Ansels beer.
