History

Named after the Cardiff's pioneering balloonist who set precedents for unpowered flight in the early 1900's, shortly after the Wright brothers.

It has been a Wetherspoons pub since 2000. A back wall demolished in 2000 apparently was 200 years old.

Inside

Families and local workers are attracted to this large, open plan community pub by the great range of fair priced food, with Vegetarian options, and low beer prices. One area is set aside for non-smoking diners.

By day, business people and mature clientelle visit, with more students by night.

One surprising feature, is the stunning ladies WC. Not only does it have a separate lounge area, with a long curved armchair, but a massive corridor of toilets. Not surprisingly the largest WC in Cardiff.
