History

Built in 1881, there is a large photo on the lounge wall of Winston Churchill driving past the pub in the war, shortly before it was bombed.

It remained derelict for 12 years before being rebuilt in 1956, when the first landlord was George White.

Until the late 1970's, the pub sported an off-licence.

It has been notoriously haunted for many years.

Inside

This is a very traditional pub in look and feel, with a large coal fire in the public bar. It has long term loyal customers, and a friendly bar staff.

The lounge is a little larger than the public bar.

At the back of the lounge bar is a full length skittle alley.

The beer garden is a patioed area, not obvious from the road.
