Built in 1889 on the site of a farmhouse.

Apparently haunted by a little Victorian girl on the unused 3rd floor, and by a woman in the area of the pool tables.

Inside

This is a spacious, lively, traditional pub, with real ales and an element of surprise.

With a chequered past, it is undergoing a rennaissance in 2005, and is well worth a visit, with welcoming and friendly bar staff.

Parking is easy in the nearby free Cowbridge Road East car parks (at the back of the Ivor Davies and the Canton pubs). There is also a small car park at the rear, accessible from Llandaff Road.
