History

Built in 1988 at the same time as the flats alongside. Started life as the Canal Boat with a skittle alley, more tables and less armchairs.

It even used to have live music courtesy of a Brass Band.

Inside

This principally student oriented pub is positioned on the busy North Road, but has its own car park (fee refundable in drinks/food). It is a focal point in the Summer with a front grass beer garden (in addition to the rear patio, which backs onto Bute Park).

Families also visit for meals, with a large flame effect fire to make it cosy.

It has a modern look, with abstract art paintings on the walls.
