History
Built as a hotel at least 1910 or ealier.Originally a shop operated next door. This then became an off-licence before becoming an extension to the pub.
Was the Glamorgan Arms at one time.
The Black Lion was apparently the name of the mascot of the Matthew family who lived in nearby Radyr.

This is probably best described as a spacious quality tavern. It has an interesting lounge, with a vaulted wood beamed ceiling. The bar is more conventional.Regulars and occasional passers by are attracted by the friendly and welcoming bar staff. It is also a community minded pub, with regular charity collections.
